Join us for a special event with George Clarke — architect, television presenter, lecturer, and writer, best known for his work on Channel 4’s The Home Show, George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, Restoration Man and more.
Conversations in Creativity is a series of talks and insightful interviews where creatives from across disciplines explore how inspiration, often from around the world, informs their practice and process.
George is an architect, television presenter, campaigner and educator. He passionately believes that architecture, art and design should be accessible to everyone and has the power to transform and enrich lives.
Whether he is designing a new home, restoring or converting historic buildings or transforming existing houses on television, he recognises and values the process that enables people to unlock the beauty of where they live.
Architecture, design and property based, his TV programmes are distributed worldwide. Using his knowledge base and experience he makes good architectural design principles understandable and achievable. In 2012 George won multiple awards for his Empty Homes Campaign “The Great British Property Scandal” and in 2015 the success and high production values of “George Clarkes Amazing Spaces” were recognised in its nomination for a British Academy television award (BAFTA).
George has built a portfolio of businesses including a design studio, a construction company, and several property development businesses. He has also founded his own education charity, ‘MOBIE’, which aims to inspire young people to create sustainable homes for their future and has engaged students at Teesside University in design challenges for a number of years.
George will be in conversation with Festival Co-founder Wayne Hemingway MBE.
This talk is a Conversations in Creativity event delivered in partnership with Creative Lancashire.
