Tinkertown is a hands-on den-building experience where children and families are given the tools, materials, and space to create something of their own making.

At Tinkertown, children and families design and build their own dens and structures using scrap timber and other materials, supported by trained staff to use real tools safely. Participants explore creativity, experiment with ideas, and learn by doing, all within a free-flowing, family-friendly environment.

There are no time limits or structured sessions—participants explore, build, and play at their own pace. Participants leave with an improved knowledge of how structures ‘work’, the build process, logistics and teamwork.

Like the rest of the Festival, children must be accompanied by an adult, so families can create, problem-solve, and play together in a safe, inclusive environment.
