Welcome to the centenary of Blackburn Cathedral in 2026 – a hundred years in the making and they’ve got big plans
They are planning a range of activities to mark this period in the rich history of the Cathedral and these will include celebratory events and special projects with community engagement at the heart of everything they do.
Their plans to develop a year of truly memorable events is already underway and they are busy working on other ways to help mark such an important milestone. They intend to look back on the past one hundred years and also work towards ensuring a legacy that lasts for the next century too.

Situated in the peaceful setting of the Cathedral’s modern cloisters, Checks & Greys is the ideal place to relax after attending one of the centenary events.
They serve delicious homemade food, expertly created using the freshest seasonal ingredients, all served by a team dedicated to giving visitors a special experience.
They are committed to marking the Centenary in many different ways culminating in a year-long celebration of the life and history of the Cathedral – and they need your help.
They intend to reflect all aspects of Cathedral life and it is hoped that the Cathedral family and wider community can work together on this prestigious campaign.

Blackburn is supported by a great network of road and public transport options for getting into town.
By Car – the biggest car park is the The Mall’s own car park, that holds up to 1,300 cars but within 10 minutes of the Cathedral you’ll find many other public car parks, click through to have a look at the options available – you’ll even see we multiple charge points if you need a little boost before heading home.
By Bus – Most regional bus services stop at Blackburn bus interchange, which is just minutes from the Cathedral.
By Train – Blackburn is well served by the rail network and once you leave the station, head into town and you cannot miss the Cathedral.
