Ask anybody in Blackburn where the Exchange Coffee shop is and they will say “follow your nose!” Fleming Square is one of the oldest areas remaining in Blackburn and is situated close to the Cathedral in the heart of the town.
Exchange Coffee is in the middle of the Exchange Arcade, a wonderful arcade built in 1849, full of independent quality retailers. The façade of the shop is impressive with its stone arch and carved head.
By the door they have the coffee roaster suppling the shop and Blackburn Market Coffee Bar with roasted coffee, so the coffee is always fresh. Downstairs is an oak panelled room, admire the old stone arched fireplace, antique furniture and the William Morris wallpaper & furnishings. Climb the stairs to the long window room with the large natural light skylight and enjoy the intimate surroundings of some smaller tables. They also have the 1849 room which is dog friendly and can be booked for larger parties. On a dry day why not enjoy the award winning square and sit outside soaking up the Lancashire sunshine!
Choose from their Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Tea menus. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, toasties & jacket potatoes as well as a large specials board & choice of delicious cakes including Gluten Free. They also now offer a Vegan menu at this shop.
